What we do

Creating Bespoke Solutions

W&B Fine Art provides independent valuation and appraisal services for insurance, resale, inheritance, tax and a variety of other purposes. We also support clients at all levels of cost effective and safe collection governance whether this be through ensuring flawless documentation of an art work, conservation planning, collection cataloguing or loan agreement coordination.

Appraisal

Whether it be for one work or the entire collection, W&B Fine Art provides appraisal and valuation services for a variety of purposes. A valuation may be required to determine the insurance value of an art work or fair market value for resale. An appraisal report, examining art work condition and properties, history, provenance as well as market factors can be requested prior to charitable contributions, in relation to tax and inheritance matters, for the purpose of damage or loss regulation or simply for the owner’s knowledge of their artwork’s value.

Collection Management

W&B Fine Art offers comprehensive administrative support as well as a suite of specialised services to help manage and maintain collections.

Working with both first-time buyers as well as experienced collectors, W&B Fine Art reduces the cost, complexity and time invested in building and caring for collections.

  • Documentation

W&B Fine Art works across all levels of collection management, from setting up initial art database systems to implementing correct protocols in collection cataloguing and managing inventories.

  • Preservation & Care

W&B Fine Art ensures that collections are kept in the best conditions by providing condition reports, conservation planning and scheduling as well as facilitating restoration work. We help navigate the customs process associated with fine art shipping as well as planning for framing, installation and storage.

  • Insurance

W&B Fine Art advises on the most suitable insurance solutions for clients, oversees policy negotiations, loan agreements and claims with an adjuster, supports the implementation of recommended conservation efforts and coordinates appraisal and valuations for cases of damage or loss.

  • Acquisition

W & B Fine Art supports each client in articulating their vision for their collection through balanced market insight and managing the pre-and post-sale process paired with curatorial guidance that makes a meaningful difference to developing any collection. This includes targeted sourcing of relevant artworks and due-diligence.

  • Sales

We work to find the best avenue for selling a work. This involves reviewing sales proposals, representing the client in all aspects of pre- and post-sale management and logistics such as the consignment process or negotiating placement and terms of sale.
